History
Sporting boat for fixed bank regattas.
This is a sports boat descended from the old anchovy, sardine and hake fishing boats, which were used on the Basque and Santander coasts in the last century.
The first news of a regatta of tarineras dates from 1719, between the Biscayan towns of Bermeo and Mundaca to decide the possession of the island of Izaro.
Since then until today it has become a popular sport practiced throughout the Bay of Biscay from Galicia to southern France.
