Officer 4th Infantry Rgt. - Prussia 1756-63 At the outbreak of the so-called Seven years’ War’ (1756-1763), the 4th Regiment was garrisoning the boundaries of Eastern Prussia, as an invasion from Russia was feared. The Regiment took part in the following battles: * GROSS JAGERSDORF, 30th August 1757, the unit was included in a minor Prussian contingent involved in the battle, where it suffered serious casualties. The clash was won by the Zarist army. * ZORNDORF ,25th August 1758 , a hard battle where both armies, after running out of gun- powder continued fighting with cold steel till late evening. The following morning the Russian army abandoned the battlefield. * BURKESDORF , 21st July 1762 .Brilliant victory against the Austrian Imperial Army. During the Seven Years’ War’ the Commanding Officers of the regiment were: Von Kalnzin 1745-1757; Von Rautter 1757-1758; Von Kleist 1758-1761; Von Thadden 1761-1774.
